Took my 2016 Wrangler out to the Liwa dunes last weekend and ever since then there's this annoying metallic rattle coming from under the car when I start it cold. It fades after a minute or two once things warm up, but it's loud enough that my neighbor actually asked me about it this morning. I crawled underneath and nothing looks obviously broken, the heat shields seem tight and I don't see any cracks, but I'm also not exactly a mechanic so who knows. A guy at work told me it could be a loose clamp, a dying catalytic converter, or even a cracked exhaust manifold, and now I'm spiraling a bit because those are very different price points. I started looking around online and found a place that seems to do quality Jeep exhaust service in Abu Dhabi, but I haven't called them yet because I don't want to get talked into a full replacement if it's just a five dirham clamp. Has anyone dealt with a cold start rattle that disappears once warm? What did it turn out to be and did you need a shop or was it a DIY fix? Also if you've used a Mussafah exhaust place, did they actually diagnose it properly or just start swapping parts?
